Volleyball Loses to Spalding

Louisville, Ky. - The Franklin College volleyball team lost in four sets to Spalding University in non-conference action on Wednesday evening in Louisville.

Franklin (13-10) had a balanced offensive attack with three players recording eight or more kills in the match.

Sophomore Emily Young (Avon, Ind./Avon) led the effort with 11 kills, while junior Jordan Finke (Indianapolis, Ind./Lutheran) added 10 kills. Sophomore Kourtney Settle (Vallonia, Ind./Brownstown Central) recorded eight kills and had a team-high three blocks.

Freshman Ashley Bazier (Terre Haute, Ind./Terre Haute South) had 31 assists and added 12 digs defensively.

Sophomore Mackenzie Wieneke (Seymour, Ind./Seymour) led four players with double-digit digs with 20 digs in the contest. Sophomore Theresa Brown (Indianapolis, Ind./Franklin Central) recorded 14 digs and sophomore Paige Clark (Jefferson, Ohio/Jefferson Area) added 13 digs.

Franklin returns to action on Friday, October 18 at 3 p.m. in a road Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match up at Defiance College.
