Volleyball Drops Pair of Matches to Open 2013 Season

Claremont, Calif. - The Franklin College volleyball opened the 2013 season, dropping a pair of 3-0 matches to Pomona-Pitzer College and Chapman University during the Pacific Coast Classic on Friday.

The Grizzlies fell behind the host Pomona-Pitzer by dropping the first two sets 25-11. Franklin dropped the third set 25-14. Freshman Ashley Bazier (Terre Haute, Ind./Terre Haute South) paced the offensive attack with 11 assists in her collegiate debut.

Sophomore Kourtney Settle (Vallonia, Ind./Brownstrown Central) tallied 14 kills in the two matches, including nine kilss against Chapman University. Junior Jordan Finke (Indianapolis, Ind./Lutheran) added five kills in the second match of the day.

Sophomore Jamie Bell (New Albany, Ind./New Albany) led the team with 22 assists against Chapman.
