Franklin, Ind. - Four double-figure scorers led the Franklin College women's basketball team to a 64-41 home victory over Trine University on Tuesday inside the Spurlock Center. The Grizzlies earned their first win of the season in the contest.
Freshman Lauren DeSutter (Pittsboro, Ind./Tri-West) led the scoring attack with 13 points. She made three 3-point field goals and had two steals. Junior Nichole Thompson (Greenwood, Ind./Greenwood) and Lindsey Dall (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg) each scored 10 points. Sophomore Katie Brewer (Indianapolis, Ind./Butler) also chipped in 10 points, while having seven rebounds.
Franklin (1-2) led 35-24 at intermission after ending the first half on a 7-0 run over the final 3:17 of the half.
The lead grew to 18 points, 46-28, with 11:33 remaining after a basket by Brewer. Trine (0-3) got no closer than 12 points the rest of the way.
The hosts held a 46-31 edge in rebounding and shot 46 percent from the floor during the second half.
