FRANKLIN, Ind. (Jan. 29, 2017) – The Franklin College men's basketball team will travel to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Bluffton University on Monday night for a makeup game.
The game was originally scheduled for Dec. 17 but was postponed because of severe winter weather.
Owners of a two-game winning streak, the Grizzlies are 6-12 overall and 3-8 in the HCAC. They are coming off an 81-73 win Saturday at Earlham College and are looking to avenge a last-second 86-84 home loss against Bluffton on Jan. 21.
Senior guard Aaron Mann is Franklin's leading and scorer and rebounder, with per game averages of 18.8 points and 7.2 rebounds. Senior guard Robbie Prather averages 14.6 ppg and shoots a team-leading 39.1 percent from 3-point range. Junior center John Beineke averages 14.0 ppg and 7.0 rpg and is among the HCAC leaders in field goal shooting at 61.2 percent from the field.
Freshman guard Braxton Day and senior forward Brent McCory also are among the Grizzlies' top contributors. Day averages 10.1 ppg and 2.7 rpg, and McCory averages 7.7 ppg and 3.1 rpg.
Bluffton, meanwhile, is 10-8 overall and 3-8 in the HCAC. The Beavers are led by senior Austin Rohde, who averages 18.7 ppg and 3.4 rpg. Sophomore Jared Wentling averages 14.3 ppg and 7.3 rpg.
Tip-off is 7 p.m. in Bluffton's Sommer Center.
